Since its inception in 1982, the Friends of Vista House has grown and thrived through the generous support and commitment of its volunteers.
Interpretive volunteers answer questions and give directions at the information desk located in the rotunda of the Vista House. New volunteers receive training and an orientation tour. They then go on to work with seasoned volunteers. Our volunteers enjoy complimentary orientation trips to area attractions and are treated to several volunteer appreciation events!
Many of our volunteers enjoy dressing in period costumes to share the early 20th century experience with our visitors. They greet visitors and provide photo opportunities. As ambassadors of the Friends of Vista House, they enthusiastically share their knowledge of the history of the Vista House.
Folk Art Volunteers
Occasionally you will find people with special talents displaying their skills at the Vista House — everything from pine needle baskets to dulcimer music.
